What distinguish the types of foundations?

For any building and structure, an important stage of construction is the laying of a reliable foundation. The construction of the foundation should begin only after the final approval of the building plan. The type and size of the foundation directly depends on what the new building will be and what geological structure will have the soil, on which construction will be carried out.

By type, foundations are divided into columnar, strip, pile and slab. Under the walls of the house, as well as for individual supports, as a rule, erected a strip foundation. This type of foundation is ideal for those buildings that have fairly heavy walls. Use a strip foundation for building basement and basements.

The slab foundation is laid under the entire area of the structure. The basis of such a foundation is the reinforced concrete plate, it should be monolithic and can have both a continuous and lattice structure.

The columnar foundation is laid for those soils that are subject to shifts. Monolithic column foundation is the most common type of column foundation in construction.

The greatest bearing capacity has a pile foundation. It consists of piles, each of which has a pointed end. As a rule, piles are combined with a reinforced concrete or simply concrete slab, and their clogging is carried out until a solid layer of soil is reached. Some pile foundations are being built without the use of unifying elements, and clogged directly into the soil. High -qualified specialists should build such foundations.
